Micro Project List for Engineering Graphics
Mechanical Engineering Department
K. K. Wagh Polytechnic, Nashik
As you all know you have to work on micro project in I
Scheme of MSBTE. These are some
topics listed for Engineering Graphics of first semester
engineering (All Branches). Select any one topic in a group of 5 students (or
suggested by teacher) and work on it.
For (Non Mechanical Group) Computer Science/Information Technology/Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
1. Title- A group will try to prepare simple wooden or cardboard model of any object suggested by teacher. (Students can select their own object) (Do not use thermocol) (For 2 to 3 Group)
........Select any one simple object from your book or allotted by teacher and try to prepare 3D model of the same. Paint or color it with different colors showing Front view, Top view and side view.
2. Title - Prepare chart showing difference between First angle and Third angle of projection method. (For 1 Group)
......Prepare colorful chart showing clear understanding of difference between First angle and Third angle of projection method. Draw their symbols also.
3. Title- Study any one household item and measure it's dimension. Draw isometric view of same. (For 2 to 3 Group)
...... Select any one household item like matchbox, computer CPU, pen holder, Mobile or any simple object from home. Measure its dimension and try to develop its isometric view on sheet of paper.
4. Title- Study any one Industrial item and measure it's dimension. Draw Orthographic view of same. (For 2 to 3 Group)
...... Select any one industrial item like Square Nut, Hexagonal Nut and Plain washer. Measure its dimension and try to develop its orthographic view on sheet of paper. take help of metrology and measurement teacher to measure dimension of these components. Each batch will select only one object.
5. Title- Study any one Industrial item and measure it's dimension. Draw orthographic view of same. (For 2 group)
...... Select any one industrial item like Square Bolt, Hexagonal bolt. Measure its dimension and try to develop its orthographic view on sheet of paper. Take help of metrology and measurement teacher to measure dimension of these components. Each batch will select only one object. You can enlarge dimension by 05 or 10 times if needed.
6. Title- Collect 02 open coil and 02 closed coil helical springs of different sizes from market. Measure parameters and prepare report. (For 1 to 2 group)
....... Student has to collect different size helical springs from market and measure its parameters like Free length, No. of Turns, Inner diameter, wire diameter etc. Draw it's free hand sketches. Prepare report. Take help of metrology and measurement teacher to measure dimension of these components.
7. Title- Collect 02 open coil and 02 closed coil spiral springs of different sizes from market. Measure parameters and prepare report. (For 1 to 2 group)
....... Student has to collect different size spiral springs from market and measure its parameters like Free length, No. of Turns, Inner diameter, wire diameter etc. Draw it's free hand sketches. Prepare report. Take help of metrology and measurement teacher to measure dimension of these components.
For Mechanical/ Electrical/ Chemical/ Civil branches you can Add following topics along with above.
8. Title- Prepare working model of Involute Curve. (For 1 to 2 group)
........ Student has to prepare a simple thick cardboard model of Square, Circle , Triangle and Hexagon. Stick it on large sheet of paper. Wound a thread on it. Attach one end of thread at one point of object and pencil at other end. Try to develop involute. take help of teacher.
9. Title - Draw the Cycloid curve of real time event. (For 1 group)
......... Student shall select 03 different size bicycle tyre . Measure it's diameter. Draw the cyloid curve of Air valve. (Take suitable scale if needed)
10. Title- Identify the curve traced by the ball in air. (For 1 group)
...... Go to college playground. One student will stand at boundary. This student will throw a ball to the wicket keeper who is 30 m away from the thrower. A ball reaches maximum height of 20 m from the ground. remaining students will observe the curve traced by the ball in air. Identify the curve. Draw simple free hand drawing and also make report.
